About Pamporovo
Pamporovo is one of Bulgaria's most famous ski resorts, along with Bansko and Borovets. Pamporovo is a purpose-built modern ski resort and is the pearl of the beautiful, natural and legendary Rhodope Mountains (the cradle of the mythical singer Orpheus).
The Rhodope Mountains are covered with magnificent pine forests, green meadows and mountain peaks bathed in sun. Pamporovo is 150 miles from Sofia and 50 miles from Plovdiv, Bulgaria's third largest city.
Set amongst magnificent pine forests, Pamporovo offers good quality accommodation, an excellent English speaking ski school and numerous wide tree lined runs, ideal for beginners and intermediates. There has been significant investment in the hotels, restaurants and facilities and the ski area itself. Beginners will progress quickly to the more challenging runs, whilst intermediates will appreciate the updated, efficient lift system. The mountain town of Chepelare has its own selection of bars and restaurants, offering an alternative experience to Pamporovo.
Restaurants & Nightlife
Most of the famous drinks are available. Local or imported alcohols, beers and wines are available at very reasonable prices. Regular "Happy hours" provide drinks on half price to start the night with.
Almost all hotels have restaurants and day bars. Different types of restaurants and places to eat are available in the resort and near the ski pistes.
Apres Ski
The après ski on ski holidays in Pamporovo is quite lively and confined mainly to the hotel bars. The most popular bars are BJ's (inside Hotel Perelik) and Spider Night Club (inside Hotel Murgavets). Both of these hotels are connected by an under ground passage, which makes pub crawls that must easier. Other popular venues include Dack's bar and White Hart pub. For those looking for a good night out on the town during their ski holidays in Pamporovo, then a Balkan Pub Crawl night will definately appeal to you.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Most medical services must be paid for, in cash, locally. They will provide receipts to enable you to claim back from your insurance company once you get back to UK. |
